The City of Casale will have the honor of closing the two official opening days, after Acqui Terme and Ovada, of the European City of Wine 2024 initiatives, which will involve the territories of Alto Piemonte and Gran Monferrato with 20 municipalities and over 70 events dedicated to wine and the promotion of the territory.

More than 80 delegates of RECEVIN (European Network of Wine Cities) will be welcomed in the afternoon of Saturday 2 March to discover the treasures of the capital of Monferrato.

First stop-off point will be the Civic Museum and Bistolfi plaster cast gallery, in the historic headquarters of the former Convent of Santa Croce before continuing towards the Castle of Monferrato in the spaces of Centro DOC, a permanent research and documentation centre on the Doc, on the civilization and culture of wine, on the tangible and intangible heritage of the territory, on the landscape of Monferrato UNESCO heritage site.

The day will come to a close at the Municipal Theatre, at 9 pm, with a celebratory concert of the Monferrato Classic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Federico Ferrari. The program includes music by Händel, Strauss, Mozart, Vivaldi, Verdi and Mendelssohn. Free admission until full capacity is reached,
