An itinerary to discover the most fascinating villages of the Borbera Valley with an e-bike route between breathtaking views and unique experiences.

Note

Pick up e-bike in Cabella Ligure and set off to discover the Borbera Valley, led by our expert cycle tour guide.
Head for Albera Ligure and then take a secondary road as far as the hamlet of Santa Maria: a picturesque village, with stone houses and the 17th century water-powered mill of Santamaria, which can be reached along a cobblestone path which continues as far as the lake and powers the Mill where there is a pleasant area to stop and relax. Continuing along the ring, after a few hairpin bends, arrival in Santa Maria where you can take an interesting walk among the picturesque stone houses, an ancient wash house and see the church dedicated to Our Lady of the Snow. Continue through nature as far as Vendersi, the village of scarecrows which are the result of the ingenious work of some of the inhabitants made using recycled fabrics and accessories, creating a joyful and magical atmosphere.
There are more than 70 scarecrows located in the village and each has a name and a story inspired by the people who once lived there. Delfina, Matilde, Aurelio, Clementina and all the friendly inhabitants are ready to
welcome you.
Followed by a short trip to the Castle of Borgo Adorno: at the foot of Monte Giarolo, strategically located in the uncontaminated Borbera Valley, it dominates from above and controls the old connection road between the valley and the neighbouring Curone Valley towards the area of Tortona.
By prior arrangement, visit the castle or garden with scenic view of the valley. Possibility to take part in a lesson of Hatha Yoga (practice of listening deeply to body and breath). Arrive in agriturismo and enjoy lunch on the scenic terrace. Accompanied by a glass of Timorasso, you will enjoy the famous platter “Angeli con lo Spago” made with the meat of pigs reared in the wild. After lunch, you will be involved in the truffle hunt at the private truffle ground for a fun and engaging experience.
Followed by a scenic route which descends towards Cantalupo Ligure passing through Pertuso to admire the scenic "strette", a fluvial gorge of extraordinary natural beauty of the River Borbera, a canyon between the steep walls and the emerald waters.
