Chiesa di Sant'Eusebio
The Church we see today, built in 1885, was designed by Crescentino Caselli, Professor of the Royal Accademia Albertina of Turin, student and assistant of the famous Antonelli, designer of the Mole Antonelliana.
It is the transformation of a much older religious building: the first news dates back to the 13th century, the first reconstruction occurs in early 17th century, in 1819 the church was expanded.
Its unusual design, the result of a very particular aesthetic taste, was generated by the arrogant technological innovation developed at the beginning of this century. The imposing cupola topped by a three-metre tall Madonna in painted bronze, is silhouetted against the horizon when we are still very far from Camagna. Getting closer, we will see the 15 statues in concrete, also of great size. The design and style of the Church of S. Eusebio are surely unusual.
Art works and objects contained: Under the grandiose cupola: the railing and the marble altar, the Madonna del Rosario of Orsola Caccia, coloured stained-glass windows, work of Costantino Sereno from Casale (author of the fake mosaics of the apses of the Cathedral), other paintings of recent production that illustrate current problems between a "Mary Help of Christians" and a "Sacred Heart" by Paolo Gaidano. The "Redemption" by a Romanian painter, C. Dragomirescu, is also striking.
