Historical re-enactment

Business description

BICENTENARY OF NAPOLEON's DEATH 1821 - 2021

The connection of the town of Alessandria with Napoleon is palpable; the town still preserves the medieval star-shaped centre and the charm of a discrete town that suffered the impulse of a deep change even after the fall of Bonaparte. It was precisely in those years that the town layout was rationalised and architects and engineers were trained who transformed the town giving it the appearance it still has today.

Napoleon Bonaparte always remained connected to the memory of Marengo and his body in Saint Helen was wrapped by a light blue cloak which he wore on 14 June during the Battle. It was won after twelve hours and put Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria and the twelve fortified squares which defended those states under the influence of France. It was so full of value that it was commemorated directly by the First Consul in 1805.
