100 years of activity are an important milestone for anyone and in this case Ottica Vinciguerra, operating in via Milano and listed in the Register of Historical Shops of the city of Alessandria, celebrates it with a laudable initiative to promote inclusive sport, involving the local community in sports activities and sensory workshops with special reference to sight, with the collaboration of the Real Eyes Sport Association and the Municipal Administration of Alessandria, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Alessandria-Asti, of Confcommercio Alessandria, of Zeiss and of the Group Scout Agesci Alessandria 1.
The programmed initiatives will culminate in the “two-day event” of Friday 26 and Saturday 27 May 2023 in which an informative conference and a multisport afternoon for children and teenagers will be held entitled "Sport e visione: oltre i propri limiti". On Friday 26, at Palazzo del Monferrato, on via San Lorenzo 21, the opportunity to listen to the personal accounts of two blind athletes who practice or have practiced sport successfully: Daniele Cassioli, paralympic water-skiing champion and Massimo Oddone, blind archery champion.
On Saturday 27, at the Athletics Field, on viale Massobrio 28, it will be the turn of an event organised in association with the Department for Youth Policies and Sport of the Municipality of Alessandria which will involve children and teenagers thanks to the aid of qualified instructors of the Real Eyes Sport Association, who will present several sports activities namely athletics, football, baseball, showdown (table tennis for blind people), sitting volley and experiential workshops "eyes closed", simulating blindness and visual impairment thanks to the use of special devices.
Real Eyes Sport is a non-profit amateur sports association, brainchild of Daniele Cassioli, blind from birth, multiple world and European water-skiing champion and member of the National Cip Council (Italian Paralympic Committee) and of some professionals who have been dealing with the promotion, organisation and support of sports and social activities linked to the world of disability and not for many
years.
