“FUORI-LUOGO” Un’impressione visiva della città, is the title of the photography exhibition, organized by Daniele Robotti with Francesca Gilardi, which will open on Wednesday 18 September in the "Francesca Calvo" Civic Library of Piazza Vittorio Veneto 1, at 6 pm.

The exhibition is promoted by the Town Administration, organized by the Civic library with the participation of ASM Costruire Insieme and the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists of the Province of Alessandria.

The exhibition also falls within the scope of the cultural initiatives proposed for autumn 2024 by the Ethnographic Hub of Alessandria, formed by the Civic Library, Associazione Cultura e Sviluppo, "C'era una volta" Ethnographic Museum, Istituto Cooperazione Sviluppo, ISRAL- Istituto per la Storia della Resistenza e della società contemporanea in provincia di Alessandria, Associazione PASSOdopoPASSO, Museum of Ancient Trades and Tamburello of Basaluzzo.

The photography project of Daniele Robotti and Francesca Gilardi captures the emotions, thoughts and expectations that arise when you arrive close to a town and prepare to immerse yourself in it, for the first time in its daily life.

As the same Robotti explains:"This visual journey unfolds between feelings of
wonder, curiosity and expectations, transforming buildings, signs, the surrounding nature and every detail into key elements to shape the discovery. The town is
unveiled through the different elements and details capturing the look of the visitor, thereby contributing to creating an initial idea of that town with a visual introduction to the topography and local culture and, perhaps, even its residents".

"When the town shows itself completely, continues Robotti, a comparison is made between first impressions and lived reality. The thoughts arising from this new perspective bring regret, confirm preconceptions and set memories which last over time".

The "Fuori-luogo" project uses vision as the key tool to
understand the diversity of the urbanized areas in the contemporary context,
inviting the visitor to reflect on the multiple facets which the town offers,
underlining the importance of the visual documentation in the context of the research and communication of the urban reality.

The exhibition, with free admission, will remain open until 18 October 2024, and is open to visitors from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 1 pm, on Tuesday and Thursday also from 2 pm to 6 pm.

DANIELE ROBOTTI

Daniele Robotti, is a professional photographer based in Alessandria.
His professional career began in the 90s with different collaborations in national and foreign periodicals.
In 2012, he founded Dogs and More srl a business specialized in professional training in the fields of animal behavior, of which he produced the iconography part of the works in the catalog.
He also works on other projects on issues, stories and subjects connected with social reporting, portraits and fine art photography.

FRANCESCA GILARDI
She began photographing in 2017, crossing and trying out all genres of photography.
