Scultura Sublime – Dal Monferrato alle Langhe
Casale capital of sculpture and Bistolfi leading figure of Italian symbolism: this will be the theme of Casale Monferrato for “Scultura Sublime - Dal Monferrato alle Langhe”, the sculpture symposium that will be held from 10 to 24 July.
An ambitious and shared project, which has the goal of achieving monumental works in the four towns that are part of the initiative proposed by Aiesm – Associazione Internazionale Eventi di Scultura Monumentale (International Association for Monumental Sculptural Events): Acqui Terme, Alba, Casale Monferrato and Ovada.
Appointment in Casale Monferrato from 10 to 24 July, where a small number of international artists will have to realise a monumental work around a specific theme, chosen by the territory in which they will be hosted.
The artists involved in the symposium of Casale will be the Serb Nedim Hadzi Ahmetovic Mafai, the Spaniard Itahisa Perez Conesa and the Italian Valeria Vitulli. During their two-week stay in the town, they will have to create their work inspired by the theme given and by the territory in which they are located.
The place of work will be the Castle of Monferrato and the material to use travertine...
The theme of the symposium will also be highlighted inside the Castle with descriptive and graphic panels that focus on the figure of Leonardo Bistolfi, his artistic fortune between the nineteenth and twentieth century, as well as a reference to the recent and important acquisition of the collection donated by the sculptor’s heirs to the Town.
The three artists of Scultura Sublime will be officially presented during the concert of the group Fabrizio Trullu Hills Trio at 21.30 on Saturday 10 July in the courtyard of the Castle of Monferrato, while the symposium will be inaugurated at 11 am on Sunday 11 July. The works, will close at 11 am on Saturday 24 July.
