Il Gran Trekking del Monferrato dei Castelli Bruciati comprises a route in 4 stages with departure and arrival in Cerrina in the hamlet of Valle, for a total of 100 km, crossing 11 Municipalities in Valle Cerrina, primarily on dirt roads and partially on paved roads with low traffic, touching the Vento cycle path to the north and the historical Superga-Crea route to the south. The purpose of the event is to promote a territory rich in natural and artistic beauties which are the heritage of the Municipalities involved by the event, a unique opportunity to visit a territory which is little known in Northern Monferrato, along nature, historical, cultural and devotional trails. 35 churches, 8 castles, and many enchanting panoramas, will be met along the way. A wine landscape recently recognised as UNESCO world heritage site. The walks are recreational motor activities and are not competitive. The participants will always be accompanied by an Environmental Hiking Guide from whom they must never distance themselves for safety reasons.

Saturday 30 September: Pontestura – Piagera di Gabiano26 km.

Participation: it is possible to take part in the full walk, single stages or more stages. Only walks or also overnight accommodation. For overnight accommodation you can use the facilities of the area (Hotels, B&B, Holiday Homes and Guest houses according to the available list) which will take you to the departure point in the morning and pick you up in the evening. For the lunch break you can use the service offered by Circolo Il Rustico with direct delivery to the refreshment point of a picnic bag for €12 comprising 2 sandwiches, 1 dessert, 1 bottle of water and a glass of wine. For dinners there is a list of local restaurants and pizzerias.

Booking is compulsory by Sunday 17 September at midnight: all registered participants will receive a confirmation email with the details, instructions and times. The participation fee per day must be paid before the departure of each single stage.

Participation fee for each single stage €18 - For those who do at least 3 stages €16 / stage - For the entire route €60 (inclusive of insurance and transport for evening return).

Meet at departure point every morning at 8 am for daily registration.

The costs of overnight accommodation and dinners are agreed directly with the chosen facilities.

A rucksack is recommended with a change of clothes, plasters, rain jacket, food and water for each daily stage. A lunch break is scheduled in a built-up area where it will be possible to eat a meal, stock up on water and use toilets.
