Exhibition entitled "LA MUSICA DEI DISCHI VOLANTI" - Suoni e parole intorno all'idea di alieno"
Since the 1950s, music has been influenced by the hypothesis of alien contact: almost every artist or music group has been inspired by apparitions of flying saucers, Martians and extraterrestrials in different ways and has dedicated at least one song to them.
There are hundreds of album and single covers, of every nationality and music genre, which show images of UFOs and alien creatures represented according to stereotypes which have become an integral part of our popular culture.
To retrace the seven decades of alien "contamination", the Italian Centre for UFO Studies (Centro Italiano Studi Ufologici, or CISU) presents the themed exhibition "LA MUSICA DEI DISCHI VOLANTI" - Suoni e parole intorno all'idea di alieno" at the Ethnographic Museum "C'era una volta". Devised by Paolo Toselli, it will be possible to admire and become acquainted with the story of a selection of vinyls, CDs, sheet music and a series of objects on show.
The more curious are invited on Sunday 8 October, at 5 pm, always at the Museum, for the conference "Una musica da "UFO"! with Danilo Arona and Paolo Toselli.
INAUGURATION OF EXHIBITION: Friday 22 September at 6 pm
Free admission every day from 9 am to noon and from 3.30 pm to 7 pm
excluding Sunday morning.
