9th edition of Arte Site Fest - GRAAL exhibition by Alice Zanin

Art Site Fest is an event dedicated to visual arts, narration and new writings, which is now in its 9th edition. For 2023, Art Site Fest proposes itself as a space dedicated to the theme of the environment and climate change, on the meaning of doing art in a world that asks for new and more effective
keys of interpretation.
This year, the City of Alessandria and ASM Costruire Insieme welcome Art Site Fest hosting the exhibition "GRAAL" by Alice Zanin in the Sale d'Arte. Zanin’s project lies half-way between exhibition, site-specific installation and the more distinctly museum-like project room.
Zanin’s sole interest is the animal world: her works are images of ibises, horses, elephants, fish, penguins, which populate her personal zoo, in which, however, the shapes are not those strictly connected with nature, but rather of art. Her animals present a structure which is often lengthened and sinuous, of researched elegance that echoes the aestheticism of animal liberty. The material she uses is of common and contemporary use, in fact in most of her production she uses papier-mâché, of newspaper or coloured in a lively and
original way
For the Sale d'arte of Alessandria, Alice Zanin tries to surprise the spectator, inviting them to immerse themselves in a marine environment. The sea, in a distant geological age, also lapped Piedmont and the most pessimistic predictions on rising temperatures and on the melting of glaciers warn us that it could happen again in the future...

The event has been realised with the contribution of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria.

Inauguration of the exhibition: Thursday 12 October at 5.30 pm.

The exhibition will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC until 12 December 2023, following the opening times of the Sale d'Arte Museum (from Thursday to Sunday, 3 pm - 7 pm).
