Exhibition "Angelo Morbelli (1853-1919). Painter from Monferrato"
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday 18 May at 5 pm, at the Civic Museum of Casale Monferrato and will remain open until 29 September in the 19th century Hall on the first floor of the former convent of Santa Croce. The project falls within the sphere of the celebrations for the centenary of Angelo Morbelli’s death and specifically wants to pay tribute to him, enhancing the current of landscape painting which the artist dedicated himself to during his stays in Monferrato, returning to his family home, Villa Maria in Colma of Rosignano Monferrato. The exhibition will also offer the possibility to enhance the paintings of Angelo Morbelli, which are held in the Civic Museum, the result of temporary deposits by private owners. The collection will be expanded and enriched by the paintings that depict the landscape of Monferrato seen from Colma and will contribute to allowing the public to re-discover an important protagonist of Italian art between the 19th and 20th century.
The exhibition will be open to visitors following the same times, tickets and opening methods of the Civic Museum: Thursday 8.30 am-12.30 pm / 2.30 pm -4.30 pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays 10.30 am -1 pm / 3 pm -6.30 pm. The catalogue is being prepared, published by Sagep, and will be available at the exhibition, Guided tours and special evening openings are scheduled for the summer period.
